At Fundación del Valle we like to get our message across in a direct and appealing way. Therefore, we sometimes, organize events so that we can share experiences in the world of cooperation for development.  

valladolidalcazarenOctober 2011 - Conference and photo exhibition about 'The importance of the education in developing countries', Valladolid

During the 18th and 19th October, we hosted a conference at Valladolid designed to raise awareness among youth about the importance of defending and promoting education in developing countries. On day 18th was dedicated to the inauguration of a photo exhibition in the Faculty of Education, which includes images of the education and empowerment of rural women project that the Foundation, in collaboration with local partner CEPS, developed in Cameroon.

In addition, on 19th more than 100 students of the College Alcazarén learnt about the educational situation in Central America through the documentary "The privilege of learning '. Belén Valenzuela encouraged the girls to share their volunteer experiences and reflect on the need to help make education a right for all.

cenaJune 2011 - The 'Friends of Fundación del Valle ' meet at a charity dinner

On June 17, the Friends of Fundación del Valle reaffirmed their commitment in a charity dinner attended by over a hundred people around a common mission: to unite against the social inequalities that hinder social progress and the progress towards quality education.

In a festive atmosphere enlivened with orchestra, the guests enjoyed an outdoor dinner attended by students from the Educational Center Fuenllana. Later, the guests could learn more about the past and present of the Foundation thanks to the interventions of Maria José Canton, General Manager, and Belén Jáudenes, Deputy General Manager.

Over seventy people attended the cocktail opening of the photographic exhibition "Work and food for farm families Mpyana, D.R. Congo" held on Tuesday 5 April at the Faculty of Humanities, Toledo.

In the event, held in the main courtyard of the School, Mrs. Esther Padilla, general director of Social Action and International Cooperation of the Regional Government of Castilla La Mancha, accompanied the speakers Don Ricardo Izquierdo Benito, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Mrs. María José Canton, general manager of Fundación del Valle and Ntumba Mueombo, general secretary of Projet Ditunga (Prodi), local partner of Fundación del Valle in the Congo. The act was also supported by Roberto Soto Gonzalez, head coach of the Fundación Castellano-Manchega.

Fundación del Valle has announced its new fundraising campaign, presented on 14 January. Before an audience, which included Cristina Rubio-President of la Fundación, and numerous representatives of the business world; Maria José Canton, Managing Director, and Belén Jáudenes, Assistant Director, outlined the new challenges facing Fundación del Valle and recounted the achievements which make up a history spanning more than twenty years.

Starting with the values that define us and differentiate us, the presentation depicted a future full of new projects. The support provided by the new Friends of Fundación del Valle will enable long-term sustainability and the guarantee that the right to education is protected as a path to peace.

The premiere, held on 22 December at Fundación Bancaja, was attended by Marc Llinares, Area Head of Citizenship Solidarity and Cooperation from the Comunidad de Valencia.

Fundación del Valle, led by its representative in the region, Ana Irlán, hosted a talk, followed by a debate, on Human Rights and the Millennium Development Goals, based on the case of the indigenous peoples of Peru's central Amazon jungle.

orvalleDecember 2010 - Seminar at the Orvalle College about the situation of children in Mombasa, Kenya

Fundación del Valle gave in December 2010 the Orvalle College of Madrid for over three days, a conference targeted at 360 students in the courses of the ESO and Bachillerato.

The content of the conference was aimed at raising awareness among school students on the situation of children in Mombasa and the need to build a nursery in order to provide a quality education.

mercadilloDecember 2010 - Solidarity market to obtain resources for a kindergarten and primary school in Mombasa

Fundación del Valle, supported by twelve volunteers, organized in the 11th, 12th and December 13th a solidarity market. The funds raised were earmarked for Phase I construction of a school for kindergarten and pre-primary in Mombasa (Kenya), managed by Kianda Foundation, the Foundation's local partner.

In this first phase will build two classrooms, a teachers room and three toilets that allow access to a quality education to the younger members of the area in an appropriate environment and conditioning for this purpose.

haiti_proyecto1November 2010 - Festival in benefit of Picsou school, in Haiti

The Guadalba Youth Association organized a festival supporting the reconstruction of the PICSOU kindergarten in the Teatro de la Casa de la Cultura of Ayuntamiento de Collado Villalba. The school, which began its work in 1990, consisted of 11 classrooms, which were totally destroyed in the earthquake in Port-au-Prince.

The effort of the young of the association showed the spirit of solidarity and cooperation of the participants and allowed to send a little hope to a devastated country that still needs our full support.

sevillaApril 2010 - 'The Congo travels to Seville'

Our dear Father Cibaka Cikongo, representative of our local partner Project Ditunga, travelled to Seville to explain firsthand the educational project which Ayuntamiento de Sevilla has financed in the D.R. of Congo.

'Integrated education for boys and girls of the Rural Community of Mande Maseru- D.R. Congo', is based on a series of lectures and exhibitions outlining the development of the main objectives of this project: building a school and ensuring the right to education for 900 children.

golfMarch 2010 - La Moraleja Golf Tournaments

March 14 at Club de Golf La Moraleja, took place on 'Golf Tournament II Solidarity' that Fundación del Valle promotes for solidarity regularly. In 2010, this sporting event was aimed at supporting rural women with limited resources in Kazakhstan.

In this country, the Valley Foundation, in collaboration with local partner KFSCED, promotes various projects to empower women and promever its insertion in the labor market through education and training.
