Some volunteers...
Honduras 2010
The volunteers working in the summer of 2010 in Honduras were involved in the project 'Teacher at home', developed by Partnership and Effort Association (ACOES) with the support of Fundación del Valle. The young volunteers were able to learn about the education systems put in place to combat truancy and to stop pupils dropping out of school early. One of the activities carried out was to support 'Casa Zulema', an institution which owes its name to an elderly woman who was abused and infected with HIV. The volunteers lived there with 22 patients who had the same characteristics.

Kenya 2010
In August 2010, a group of thirteen volunteers from Association Campos made a volunteer trip to Kilifi, Kenya. During their stay, they worked closely with local agents in promoting the Tewa Training Centre, a centre that trains women to work in the hospitality industry or in agriculture. The volunteers were engaged in a variety of activities, from addressing healthcare needs in a medical clinic, to helping families from villages to cook, clean the house or in childcare. Meanwhile, the young women prepared an educational project directed at fostering the intellectual capacities of the area's children. In this project, classes were given in English and Arts & Crafts to over 100 children.

D. R of Congo 2010
The work done by the volunteers over the summer of 2010 in the Congo allowed them to explore different facets of the project that Fundación del Valle and Projet Ditunga is developing in the province of Eastern Kasayi. This project brings together seven of the rural associations of the community of Mpyana Bakwa Cyabila, located in the Ciyamba sector and, given its size, is divided into different stages ranging from educational action to health and productive self-sufficiency. As such, the volunteers worked, among other activities, on maintaining a hen house and on the installation of a generator bringing clean water and electricity to a recently opened pig farm.
