Last 9th of April, in collaboration with the Valencian company Calmo Agency, we went to Valencia to impart awareness workshops on SDGs to the students of the Special Education Public School CEE Ruiz Jiménez.
This activity has been possible thanks to the AECID financing.
The day before, on Monday, April 8th, we visited the Calmo Agency premises in Calle Daniel Balaciart 2, 46020 Valencia, in order to work with their employees. We prepared all the materials and coordinated the workshops contents for the following day.
Adrián Valiente, General Director of CALMO Agency, was in charge of the workshop, thus carrying out the Corporate Volunteering in collaboration with Fundación del Valle.
After receiving a full training on the 2030 Agenda, Adrián prepared a much-worked content on the 17 SDGs, duly advised by special education professionals. Through educational videos, games and other activities, the students greatly enjoyed the learning, in a special environment outside of their work routine.
Divided into two groups, a total of 122 students received notions on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN. Through different dynamics, they were able to reflect on how to put into practice some simple actions in everyday’s life in order to respect the environment and achieve the goal of a sustainable planet.
We especially focused on SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life below Water) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
At the end of the activities, each student received a diploma for having attended the workshop, which they accepted with enthusiasm and contributed to their greater motivation.
The teachers and directors of the school gave us a nice souvenir prepared by the students, made with some materials previously used to make the «ninots» of the Valencian Fallas. Thank you very much to all of you!
