Within the framework of the Education in Sustainable Development Values Program of the 14-CO1-315 Agreement, funded by the Spanish Cooperation Agency, Fundación del Valle and Fundación Mainel have organized an activity to train and raise awareness in SDGs to high school students.

Fundación Mainel has prepared an exhibition with illustrations on the SDGs at the IES Cid Campeador de Valencia. Thus, the students have some materials to wise up and work on the Sustainable Development Goals.

On May 8 last, Fundación del Valle went to this educational center to impart a formative talk about SDGs to 120 students of the ESO, divided into two groups.

Through this talk, students were able to get a better understanding of what SDGs are and in particular those that refer to health (SDG 3), education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5) and the environment (SDG 7, 13, 14 and 15).

On behalf of Fundación Mainel, Juan Carlos Pratdesaba welcomed the group and presented the photographic exhibition, and then gave way to María from Fundación del Valle, who was in charge of the training talk.

Juan Carlos, from Fundación Mainel, distributed to the students some informative brochures of the exhibition, where some drawings made by the students of the Polytechnic University of Valencia are explained.

In the above image you can see Juan Carlos Pratdesaba from Fundación Mainel and Elisabet López Torrents, General Director of Fundación del Valle.

In addition to our own contribution on each SDO we worked on, the students could watch some videos explaining the SDGs and what the Agenda 2030 means.

The workshop ended with some practical ideas relevant to daily life and some concrete goals that where proposed by the young people.

We want to thank the teachers of the Instituto Cid Campeador of Valencia for their warm welcome to the two Foundations, and to the students for their interest in this training.
