Since 2010, we have been developing projects which train and empower rural women in Yaoundé, motivating them to generate their own income and helping them break the cycle of poverty.

Aim:

  1. Improve the quality and accessibility of vocational training for the youth of the city of Yaounde and its surroundings through the creation of a computer lab at the Center for Women’s Training Sorawell, already in operation, and increased bag to provide scholarships for girls with fewer resources to access higher education;
  2. Ensuring access to clean water for 1,300 people from 3 rural communities of Yaounde.

Achieved: Under the project, it has been possible to increase the number of scholarships granted to young people from poor backgrounds in Yaounde, enabling them to continue with their professional training, enhancing their capacity to participate in the labour market.

Aim: Through the Centre, women receive technical training to facilitate their access to employment and the creation of a self-employment, in order to promote their participation in civil society.

Aim: To strengthen education with special attention to girls and women of Mehandan populations with the construction of a centre for pedagogical and educational activities.

Achieved: A team of trainers have been formed and will start an office providing teaching and educational support to 1,300 children and young people in rural areas and 300 rural women participating in the ‘mothers’ school’. Also 80 rural women receive practical and specific technical support to improve food security for their families.
