News from Kianda Foundation (Kenya)

We have received a nice testimony of our project in Kenya, -Kianda Foundation-, which we share with you as a Christmas gift: a story about one of our beneficiaries. This year is Agnes Nambakire, former student of Pearlcrest Hospitality Institute. Agnes started her course at Pearlcrest in March 2015 and finished in April 2017. She is now 21 years old.

She is an orphan. Her parents died when she was very young, and was raised by her grandmother.

Someone who knew his situation told him about Pearlcrest and got a place.

From the beginning she loved the course and worked hard. She felt at home and wanted to help in all the activities of the Center.

Agnes is now an open and happy person. At the end of the course she left for her industrial practices at Serena Kigo Hotel and at the end of this period they used her at the hotel because they were happy with her work. With his savings she bought a coal furnace and started a small cake business. After work she makes them and during the day she has someone who helps her with the sales of the cakes, this way she has already created employment, and she is happy to be able to help someone else now. Also now she can take care of her grandmother and her dream is to continue with her studies later.

We wish you all the best for the New Year!
