On April 2nd, we once again went to the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (Campus of Cantoblanco), where we recorded some educational videos of the 4th year Teaching students.
Within the project Learning for Service, organized by Comillas Solidaria, this year a total of 15 students have prepared -with all their dedication and generosity- materials for teachers of the rural public schools in Guatemala, working together with our local partner Fundap Guatemala.
This year the program’s title has been “Guatemáticos in Fr-Acción”. With the help of Professor Elsa Santaolalla, the project approaches fractions to Guatemala.
Next we had the opportunity to share some typical Guatemalan food, which we all provided. Then David Armisen, responsible for Comillas Solidaria, invited the students to reflect on this Learning for Service project and how they had lived it. This way, they could put this initiative into a deeper context.
These videos, along with other material, will be sent to Guatemala Fundap. They will give them to the teachers themselves as a valuable input to improve their educational techniques in that country.
